Question,

I use Seafoam http://www.seafoamsales.com/ during winter storage to keep the fuel system clean and stabilized in my bikes. The other product I used in my cars and older bikes to keep the valve train clean and lubricated during the riding season is Lucas fuel system treatment. http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=26&catid=2&loc=show Would it be a good idea to use this product, once in a while, in the S3 as well? How bad/often does the fuel system and top end get dirty. Lucas is suppose to clean and lubricate. If it DOES work,.....then it sounds like a good idea no? :-\

The problem isn't so much the injectors getting dirty and building up parafin, but the carbon build up in the cylinders and on the valves.

Seafoam and the Lucas additives will help reduce the buildup. I use Gumout Regain to do the same thing about once a month.
I am a big fan of Seafoam too, but have found it to be less effective for stabilizing fuel than stabil (sp?). Last winter I put the correct amount in my HD and the fuel still got really crappy, maybe I just had a bad bottle? Still use it every once in a while in both bikes to clean.
Well, the Seafoam has always done a good cleaning/stabilizing job for me, but I like the fact that the Lucas is suppose to clean and then lubricate the top end. I guess it would not hurt to try some in Speedy this summer.
Hey DVS is the ACES IV a cleaner too??? I'd call and ask Brian, but the explanation would just confuse me.
YES.
The ACES is an injector cleaner, carbon reducer, and a top cylinder lube.

I use the Regain just to help.
ACES IV ????????
How did you miss the "Secret" fuel additive thread?

TK-7 and ACES IV are my favorite additives - next to running nitro in methanol.
Cool, now I am even more anxious for my bottle to arrive. Brian said I should have seen it by today........ Waiting patiently............

I remember the TK-7 stuff....forgot about the ACES IV
Kind of off topic, but I think I have found a set of injectors that will allow me to try E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gas - no purging needed!) in my Speedy.

This might even be worth testing 10% nitro... eventually.
Stupid, but fun.
