I don't know what category this belongs in but does pertain to all bikes.

I am in the process of doing a bunch of maintenance to my 06 and tore down the rear susspension linkage to have the parts powder coated black. I noticed that the needle bearings in the wingarm link were dry and that bearely any grease was put in them at all. The seals used for the bearings aren't the best at keeping stuff out either. Mine had a bunch of aluminum from what looked like machining shaves when the bearings were pressed in. It didn't take much to clean the bearings up and repack them with a good quality grease.

I recommend this to anybody, especially if you ride in wet weather often.

Was thinking of doing this soon, thanks for the reminder.I think all bikes use f*#k all grease in their bearings.A friend bought a brand new GSXR 1000 a couple of years ago and as he is a stickler for maintainence decide to do his headstock bearings, guess what, about a finger wipe of grease in their. :slap:
