SHAAAWING!

Wifey took me down to the Ducati dealership to pick up my bright and shiny anniversary present...

HOOOOOLY shit does this thing go like crazy. It handles like it is one rails, brakes stop like mad, powerband is nuts and it does ludicrous speed in first. The only downside is that she isn't happy doing slower than 50. Friggin' first gear is geared way too tall for cruising in town anywhere. After break-in and my trip home and back I'm going to have to get a bigger rear sprocket to keep my license safe...r.

I'm still in a daze and the shock of owning this bike still hasn't kicked in. I look at it and my brain keeps telling me, "No way do you own that, dude. Whose bike is that?" I guess I've spent too much time looking at photos and dreaming for reality to settle in just yet.

ROFL!

congrats dude and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
How long have you been married? I think I remember you getting married fairly recently?
Congrats! Anniversary and bike!

Now we'll be waiting on wheelie pics... :smitty:
Ha!!!! Now you know what a real bike handles like!!!! Get yourself a 70mm system, that will make things work better and remove the heat from your ass!!!

They are not like the Triumph's!!! This baby’s need to be pampered with cash!!!!

Take the wheels of the 1098 before you think about changing them; they are super light just like the rest of the bike.

Brakes!!! How good are they!! One finger braking and if you’re not careful you will be over the top!!!

I hope you got the (S) model, worth the extra $$$$$..........

Have fun, thrash it and then sell it!!!! You will almost get your money back.........
The Triumph will feel like crap after the 1098 but it is cheap to run, maintain, bullet proof, reliable and you don’t need the dealer to fix it should it need anything other than regular service parts.

After your second service you will be faster due to the massive weight saving from your pocket!!!!

They say that services are cheaper, time will tell!!!!

Have fun, they are an awesome race bike with plates and lights fitted….. (racebike)….

Does the Termi system make the bike run smoother and get rid of the small amount of snatch in the throttle I've noticed? If so, I'm all about smoothing things out and creating a reliable/predictable powerplant. Otherwise, this thing has more than enough power for me now. Gah...

I didn't bother with the S model because I like the darker low-key forks and I can always do a 5k 'better than S' kit (BST CF wheels, Ohlins upgrade kit, and other goodies) from one of the aftermarket shops I found based in California. The stock susupension feels good. I won't mess with it for a long while.

The brakes don't bite as bad as I thought they would. My impression was that I'd single finger the lever and be over the bars in no time. I find the way AMS has the brakes set up to be very progressive and predictable. I like the stiff lever feel and knowing I won't encounter mush. I actually might like it a hair stiffer and grabbier, then again, the bike is hardly broken in yet, but I'll fix that over this weekend and next week as I have time.

Don't know about selling it. You NEVER really get anywhere near your money back after you start upgrading bits, and I plan to put a slipper clutch on as well as a bunch of other little bits as I have the cash and feel it is time to upgrade.

Defiitely not getting rid of Trinity. I'm actually going to strip her down this fall/winter and do a complete rebuild. If I can find a Daytona motor I might do a swap, but she's been riding really twitchy and is in need of some TLC as I've never checked the cush drive or other parts which probably are in need of maintenance after nearly 20k of flogging. I might get the frame and wheels coated like planned and bodywork resprayed with cool video game logos under the clear. Maybe a Gears symbol across the tank or something cool.

Put a 14 tooth on the front that will make things better. The 70mm system sorts out the stalling problems also.

I have got race air tubes and a full set of carbon moulds made but I'm to busy to make any parts for it yet. Dont bother with the slipper unless you’re racing!! A nice billet pressure plate will make it look the goods.

I also have a mates 1098 in the shop at the moment; it’s getting a major makeover!!! He is full bling bling!!!!!
Chrome wheels, swingarm, 70mm system and probably one of my carbon kits eventually. It will look awesome once it's finished.

They would make a cool fighter!!!!
God, you suck.

Saw a brand new one up on Deal's Gap last week.

Mommy!
Suh-weeeet!

Congrats on the new toy. They're very red, aren't they? ;)

Nice, dude! They sure are pretty. I flat-out can't afford to own one.

I bet your old girl's gonna start getting jealous and cranky if you spend too much time with the young, exotic new mistress...

Nice bike , Say , your wife have any sisters ?
congrats on the new toy kuhlka. Enjoy and be safe (if the two are possible to integrate ;) )
I'll hopefully get more pictures tomorrow of Autumn and I on the bike if the weather is decent. I'd like to go riding with her tomorrow, but it seems the starter switch on my Speed Triple has decided to take a shit and stop working. I'll have to get a new one from North Dallas when I take the 1098 in on the 20th.
