Site Expansion?

Obviously there is some issues going on that I personally have nothing to do with. I love my bike, which is why I started TS3.com over a year ago with kuhlkas help..(thanks Kuhlka!) I am more than happy to provide a spot where people can communicate as ADULTS. (that being said I take no responsibility for ANY posts contained within thespeedtriple.com) ;D and now that the legalese is out of the way...I have a day job that pays the bills, and I enjoy the community as much as anyone else which is why there is no advertising, and no real rules except common sense...

So, the question was made, or should I say Racecomp brings a question to the table... and it is one I will ask you guys... and I will give some options as well.

the Daytona 955, 675, bikes are very popular, and I am sure the soon to be released "baby S3" will have its own following. I could expand the site quickly and simply adding individual sections to the existing site "thespeedtriple.com" that would be an easy and quick fix for the Daytona guys if there is definitely a need some "OPEN" space I would be glad to provide that space but I want to keep the S3 community and myself satisified...(my own greed as an S3 owner) ;D The other option is to go strait ahead at ALL TRIUMPH OWNERS and create a multi platform site similar to the "other site, this would definitely create a direct stage of competition.... no doubts..... again I have NO PROBLEM DOING THIS.... for the Triumph community as a whole... Its a week worth of work at most for me and a week I'd be willing to put in...what are your guys thoughts?

I hope that rant made sense..... :squid: out!

Actually, the 675 Daytona has a very good site and the 675 mini-me would fit well with the guys there or here, the Daytona guys on T595.net are pretty good, the Rocket 3 has a good site. That being said, there might be a demand for another all inclusive Triumph related site for the adult community.

"If you build it, they will come."  ;D
Thanks Cat for giving us this option, I'm sure it will be a positive in the long run. :smitty: :smitty:
Catahoula-

I hear the need that race comp has mentioned.

I wrote quite a bit and then realized it didn't matter and deleted it again before posting.

How bout a mother site called Catas-triples (or whatever)..... And we make a section or linked site for all the sport/street three cylinder Triumph bikes. My rational is the bikes have enough in common that we can pick up tricks and tips across the board. ie being the ST & S3 & Daytona have similar motors tuning is going to be similar. The babies (675's) will be similar too.

Or something of that nature. If you need assistance I am willing to help, and I'm sure others will pitch in as well. Seems we have a really strong group here.

Just my $.02

As long as it doesn't turn into the "Biker Hangout" like on the other side. The smell of organic coffee and damp corduroy was disgusting. :gayaway: The 'Tona guys are welcome as long as they RESPECT MY AUTHORITY!!!
RaceComp,
Too bad I edited the post. Glass houses gathering moss and all that...

Or was that never leave a rolling stone unturned?

;D
Expansion is good, but before that you gonna have to do something about the forum software. If we add more forums to this the new post search will be even more useless than it is now :(

Browsing through all that S3 nonsense is a hard task as it is. Add daytona jabbering to that and it'll be totally useless :(

I'm sorry I can't describe better what's wrong with the new posts search, but it just sucks ;D

All you have to do premie is click on which forun you want and if it has a new post it has NEW right next to the subject. Seems like yellow is slow in every department.

Cata,

If you're gonna do something like that, perhaps you can call it 'The Triple Forums'.
I think the Triumph Triples have more in common with each other than the twins - the twins may as well be another make. In fact, I think the Speed Triple has more in common with the Benelli than the Bonneville. :horse:

I like your forum as it is, but it does make sense to open it up to other Hinckley Triple owners, as they have many of the same issues Speedy owners have.

You've added about 250 new members in just the last month or so. Are you ready for more rapid growth?
:shocker: You all do know this is a SPEED TRIPLE site hence the name THE SPEED TRIPLE . I enjoy comming to a site that deals with just my bike and the people who ride the triple. Oh and the chaos that goes on with the fellow triple riders . no other bike owner knows :lurking: the feeling of riding naked and can understand the feeling . So with that being said keep the site as is but I can understand the changes. so Cat thanks for the thought of letting us know the future of our site :drink:
I only have one concern if we were to go with the triumphrenegade idea. With more and more forums, you need a lot more micromanagement and mods. I'd rather keep things somewhat small. I like the triple idea. Perhaps we could focus more on a hooligan/tech theme for this new move? I think we should have a 'mother' domain like triumphrenegades.com which has all the photo hosting, HTML webpage tech walkthroughs, featured bike page, etc and links to the various forums who are associated with the Renegades. We could then have TriumphRenegades branch out via links to thespeedtriple.com, thedaytonaforum.com, etc.

That is what I tried to convey - Very poorly on my part I might add!

Can there be a book club section? I need a place to publish my manifesto.

Do that to all 23 forums here? Give me a break. A discussion board needs to have a working unread posts search. Preferably one where you can configure which forums are included.

If there was only one speed triple forum and one daytona forum it would be doable, but as it is, it can't be done.
The two questions to be answered are:

1) Is it needed?

2) Are we the ones to address that need?

I think that no, there isn't much of a need for huge expansion. There's plenty of Triumph sites out there to service everybody. This site services the needs of a peculiar type of person and bike: The Speed Triple Hooligan type. If others want to visit that's just great. The more the merrier. Perhaps a single forum section for "Other badass hooligan bike types" would be appropriate for such guests

In other words, I prefer that this place be kept small. That was the nice thing about the Speed Triple forum on Trat: It was small, but we talked about a lot of stuff. I never used the rest of that site.

Personally I think that a group like us are not the right people to base a broad ranging Triumph site on. Tiger and Sprint ST fans don't really fit in 'round here. Bonnie riders... yeah. Right. The occasional Thruxton rider might filter in, and that's just great. (I love Thruxtons. Just wish they had about 30% more HP) Rocket III riders? Mayyyyyybe. Some of them. If they want to they are welcome.

A "Baby Speed Triple" section is very appropriate, and I think there's room for a Daytona and Daytona 675 section in the "Other Badass Hooligan Bike Types" area. Otherwise keep it simple.

You asked, I gave my opinion.
