so it's time for new tires

my rear is almost bald and i'm about to be crippled if i don't throw a new one on there very soon.

i'm having a tough time trying to decide which tires to get. i've pretty much decided to go with a pair of road tires rather than race tires such as the pilot powers due to the fact that more than 80% of my riding time is done on city streets with little to no turns. i need something that has a hard center with soft sides. i know there are several tires out there but i am having a difficult time choosing the correct set of tires for my bike.

conti-force road attacks
metzler roadtec z6
michelin pilot road
pirelli diablo corsa 3

any others i might have forgotten?

looking for opinions from people who have actually used any of these tires on their speedys.

thank ya much.

I have the Metzler M3's only about 1000 on em so far but there heads and shoulders above the stock bridgestones..
I use mine for commuting a lot, not much in the way of corners...so I'll be switching as well.

My plan is to go with a (Limey suggested) Conti Road attack rear w/Sport attack front. This way I'll maintain confidence in the front and get some decent wear from the rear. I hope this will get me a one-for-one wear cycle between the front and rear too.

The Conti's look good as well.
very intersting, dfib. just did a search on the stradas and they sound really good.

hmmmmmmmmmm...

Are ya gonna throw another fib if you see someone else with the same tires as yours?
not anymore. after i get my exotic parts for my bike, i won't have to worry about the rest of the crowd. and when they ask where i got the parts from, i'm gonna pull out these. :twofinger:

We get Pirelli powers over here as stock, well i did anyway.I run the power on the front and the road on the back, brilliant combo.
thx for all the suggestions. i've decided to go with the conti force road attacks. competition accessories has a package deal for $216. i'd call that hot!
That was going to be my reccomendation. I have the pilot roads and they have a very flat profile, so when you do get in the twistys, they don't turn in as easy and have a smaller contactpatch while leaned over. These guys are the local MSF instructors and do a lot of riding. They do reviews on a lot of the stuff they use and did one on the Conti Roads. http://www.canyonchasers.net/reviews/accessories/road-attack.php
