Just bought an 06 and love it, but...

as subject says - when I turn the key in the side key lock thing I still can't get the seat to lift off for the manual and toolkit. wned:

Just turn the key to the left till it feels like it's going to snap off while applying a little downward pressure on the back of the seat.

vinny is right. The seat needs a little down pressure applied while turning the key. :eboy:

It's fixable, my mechanic bitched about it and then fixed it for me, no more pressure needed. Already bent one key though. :violent1: I think he just slightly re-routed the cable but don't quote me on that.

I'll see if I can't fix it myself after I get it off. I got extended at work in PA for a day so 1 day more w/o my toy!

Try a little Dri-Slide (or any spray/drip lube w/molybdenum) down in the cable housing - did wonders for mine!

On the seat there is a post with a black washer. Remove the washer and the seat will come off much easier. It seams the washer is a little bit to thick, and when the seat engages, the washer puts pressure on the mechanism which makes it hard release.

Thanks brother...thats the easiest and best fuckin tip yet...i just went out and tried it and it is a snap now...i owe ya a round!
