Fugly, I bet anything an S3 will be more fun to ride. A 1050 will probably out corner that thing and stop better. Gotta give Suzuk cred for trying, when I first saw the twin headlights of the S3 everone said "you'll love it or hate it," I guess you can say the same about that road hog.
First get rid of those turn signal fairings...they look like shit. Second, change the headlight in the front to be smaller, similar to what Kuhl'ka did to his 03, get rid of those tuba pipes and you have a good looking contender. Sometimes less is better....
Eeeeww! Too bad it'd take another $2G to make it look appealing...what's up with those pipes?!?
The Japanese just cant help themselves. They think their bikes should look like Transformers or action heros.....oh well.

I've said this before with little reaction (good or bad). The successful naked bike should have an element of "de-construction" in its design. The S3 looks good (de-constructed) because it looks like somebody designed a nice looking bike, then took OFF stuff. Not put ON flashy looking parts. Triumph style guys have been very careful to achieve that effect. But it's fashion, and people will differ in taste.

Its like putting a bunch of bling on a pair of jeans vs. washing them a hundred times and distressing them out. The bling looks like crap to me everytime.

Same as the Kawasaki and stinkin fybdnvjhstwem,b 1300, whatever. They just dont get it.
I think the b-king is ugly as hell. Why can't the Japanese just take one of their liter bikes, remove the fairing, install real handlebars, and hide a couple of the hoses and wires ala' Aprilia. Detuning just makes for a compromised powerband that noone wants.
I must say it really does look like a Transformer.
They need to strip some stuff off of it, and then it may look better.

My 2 cents
What I love about the S3 is it's what the Bonneville would have been with 35 years of evolution from 1972. Instead, the new Bonneville is a time warp. In the 80's full race fairings became the thing, and the brute force muscle bike died. Now they're reborn as "nakeds" primarily from European manufacturers. The Japanese, who killed the naked to begin with, are late to the party, and most don't get it.

They're trying too hard to style it. A naked bike should have: engine, frame, wheels, fork, lights, seat, tank, and bars. All functional, and the style should come from how you make it all look together. Ducati Monsters emphasize the lattice frame. S3's emphasize the engine. That Suzuki has far too much that is non-functional (or minimally functional.)

Geof
(Speaking of ugly silencers, have you seen the ones on the Kawi Z1000?)
If I woke up in bed with it, I'd be chewing on my arm......
I could live with it without the exhaust. The bet the gixxer motor feels pretty sweet. I would have to ride it before I pass judgement. :jerkit:
