OK so today was kinda special day, because 1. I had a day off 2. I had a day off and I wasn't hung over. So I decided to go to my dealer and ask about my bike and test ride something cool while I'm at it.
First I thought I'd take Daytona 675 out for a spin, but it turned out that they had a Benelli test ride day. So instead of daytona I decided to test the Benelli Cafe Racer. It was a short ride, but I got the general idea of the bike.
Pros:
- It looks awesome
- It's a yeller
- Feels very light
- Awesome brakes compared to speedy
- High quality components and light frame design
Cons:
- Not enough torque in the lower RPMs
- Not fun enough (hard to wheelie)
- Coolers on the sides (they get busted if you drop the bike)
Would I buy it? I doubt it. It's nowhere near as fun and comfortable. Also it would be a hell to drop this bike on it's side.
After that I went to another dealer and asked to test ride a KTM Super Duke. "Unfortunately" they only had the R-model for test ride ;D The sales guy said "try to stay on two wheels at least most of the time". I was like yeah right and took off.
Pros:
- The bike looks sick. I'm telling you, SICK! It looks way better than speedy.
- Some serious Torque, wheelies easier than Speedy
- Extremely light and flickable
- Totally hooligan
- This bike makes you grin like Speedy
- Awesome sound!
- The brakes kick speedy's ass
- High quality components
Cons:
- Twitchy throttle, but that's a matter of taste
- No pillion seat, but seriously, who gives fuck with this bike?
- Small and hard to figure dash
- Not very comfortable, the seat and suspension is hard. Wouldn't want to make a 300mile trip with this bike.
So would I trade speedy for this? It's a tough call. This bike is serious fun, but uncomfortable. I'd love to have this as a second bike, but it's definitely not an all around bike like speedy.
