Riding the Speedy I've noticed an annoying throttle trait.

When I get off the throttle it seems to "pop" when I get back on it. It's really annoying if you back out entering a turn then it slams on as you open to exit.

I've thought that I may need to lube my linkage/cable. Anyone else have experience with this feeling?

get the TORS map installed. it mellows the bottom end and makes the popping go away.
(at least on my bike it )

Make sure you have taken out the slack at both ends of the cable.

If the map goes from one cell (rpm/throttle position) that is lean, and enters a richer one, the engine responds harder than is wanted. The stock mapping is pretty lean at cruise - 10% throttle. This gives good mileage, but can cause just what you are experiencing.

Also, the cells at higher rpm are a bit leaner than they should be. If you get on the throttle hard, then let off, and get back on again, the mapping is causing some issues.

This is a big part of tuning part throttle for improved driveability.
