Tuneboy map question

I'll post this here rather than email Wayne, or PM the other Wayne, others might be wondering the same thing.

I am currently led to believe that I'm running Dev's 20088 map with slight changes. The download goes fine. Afterwards, I go to "tools" and then "identify map in ECU." It comes back w/ "20088 Aftermarket pipe non sai blah blah blah" instead of the name I gave the tune when I saved it. Is that just a generic label for the tune, or am I not actually loading the map?

Does it show the same information that is in the "edit notes" for the tune you loaded?
Not all of the information, but some of it, yes.

Looking again at my map folder, I never loaded the base tune 20088, so I guess your map is the only place it could have gotten that information. My question was more in the spirit of is it supposed to say "20088Base2_DVS_1050precat_removed"

I think the TuneBoy can only identify the base map used (as in which official Triumph map was the starting point). It does not care about any changes you might have done to the tune.

I get the same result as you with the "Identify" function, but map and tune constant changes seem to upload to ECU just fine.

I keep a separate log in a text file of my uploads, so I can keep track which of my tune files I currently have in the bike.
Martin is correct.
The ECU does not save the new tune name, only the base that is started with.

As long as it shows 20088 (the old non-US TORS tune), and a few of the Edit Notes, it is has been loaded.

All is right in the world. ;D

Let me know if the suggested changes help.
Will do, roads should be thawed out again in a few hours. I'm just wondering how to re-create the "garage re-entry rube goldberg" by myself. It involves a few boards, a rope, and some swearing. I'll worry about that after the important stuff is out of the way ;)
