Just signed up to buy a tuneboy through a group buy! Can't wait to get it!

Seeing as re-chipping cars still under warranty can invalidate the warranty if engine failure occurs....the question popped up how Triumph looks at bikes under warranty being remapped by something else than their own kit. Do they even give a frakk?

IF you do something incredibly foolish (ie: reset the rev limiter for 15k or something of that matter) Triumph prob will tell you to sod off. Other than that it shouldn't invalidate the warranty. Check with your dealer to make sure. (Mine is VERY liberal as to what mods he considers invalidate the warranty :drink:)

For most warranty stuff, if they claim that a mod invalidates a warranty, they must prove the mod in question caused the issue under warranty. ie: your dealer can't refuse to warranty your brakes because of an exhaust or engine mod. ;)

You wouldn´t consider ordering two in that group buy? ;D

It sound really interesting! I'm just thinking that if you get customs and tax on it....then it´ll probably end up at the same price as if you order it on their website. Not trying to poop your party here!;D
You may after all get away with it! And then... :jerkoff:

Thanks! I'm sure it's all cool but I'll check with my stealer just in case...not that their reply will keep me from going ahead with remapping with tuneboy. :drink:

You're prob right...I'll get nailed for 80 bucks in customs and tax....but then again Tuneboy isn't sold in Sweden so this is the only way...it's all PC overhere. Maybe I can get 'em to send it as a gift and send the receipt seperately...

Y'know fenster, Bob down at Chain Reaction sells a package with the tuneboy and CRM pipes, and since you mentioned you want the pipes, might as well get the tuneboy from him as well, $350!

Even if you did something incredibly stupid and melted down a piston or ventilated the block, you could just load one of the Triumph tunes back in the ECU before you take it and make your warranty claim. Not that I would ever do something so dishonest. That's part of the beauty of TuneBoy over PC. The wiring harness is untouched.

It helps to know the laws in your state, US state that is. In some states motorcycles are not covered under the lemon laws, which means if the dealer refuses to repair under warranty, you will have to sue under breech of warranty. not a big deal but you will most likely have to get a lawyer. If you have to go that route you should sue the dealer and triumph. It is true that triumph must prove your mod caused the failure, so make sure you can bring your speedy back to the stock or TORS tune.
