Just wondering what's the best oil to use in my 1050 semi or full synthetic

INCOMING!!!! ;)

The break in oil is semi-synthetic. Triumph recommends Mobile 1 4T synthetic for a reason.

Semi-syn oils are mineral base oils with a synthetic additive package.
Synthetic oils use a synthetic base. It is the additive packages that make one oil better than another.

Mobile 1 4T is a good oil, you can get an even better oil that will protect better, last longer, make more power, and cost less than what your dealership charges. Do some research into oils. This site and the internet are FULL of good information. Try to sift through the hype and the personal beliefs (lots of these), to make a good choice.

Decide what you want to spend, how often you will change your oil and filter, where you will get your oil (local, or order it), and then make a decision on what you want to run.

I hope this helps.

Click the link to see a lab comparison of virgin Mobil 1 R4T vs. Mobil 1 15 W 50 (available at any local store), may not help your decision, but who knows.

If I only had a penny.
I honestly consider myself above hostility, but "oil threads" are starting to make me want to punch a baby! :horse:

Are you boiling in oil yet?

What type, what kind, what weight, what brand, what do you use, where can I get some, what if I use this brand, what does it taste like, what color is it,how often do you change it, what filter, how tight, what if it's cold outside, can I reuse the sump washer, should I use a copper or aluminum washer, what should I torque it to, what if I have a yellow bike, ...? (gasp, pant, pant, pant)

And I need an answer NOW!

;)
Most importantly can I use European oil with American tires? What about American oil with British tyres? :horse: :horse: :horse: :violent1: :violent1: :violent1:

American or European Yellow bike? ;D
Well it's a metric bike, so... it ain't Mericun. ;D
And it is a an unladen, European, yellow bike in the peak of migration season.

But I painted over the yellow, so what oil do I use now...?
Well now you have gone and done it!

With an ex-pat scorched yeller bike that has received the witness protection treatment your only option is to try rubbing various types, brands, and weights of oil vigorously into the gas tank. Whichever absorbs best is the one you should use. Duh!

Fuckin n00b!
