Who wants a modified 1050 header?

I MAY....repeat - MAY have a line on a new 1050 header. And a Daytona header for my custom header project.

I am thinking about modifying the 1050 header:
Porting, removing precat, interior clean up, and ceramic coating it black (and a stock midpipe).

Would anyone want to buy these parts for USD $200 (including shipping to lower 48 states) plus exchange for your stock parts? $150 USD for just modified and coated header (plus exchange). Or USD $100 for a modified uncoated header (plus exchange).

I would send them out when I recieved your stock parts and payment.

Anyone interested?

This is just in the thought process, and want to see if it is worth my time to go forward.
Hoorray for the mighty devious!

I'm too much of a DIY man to buy this though. Waiting for cold air intake mod though :) How's that going?
G
premier - I DO understand wanting to DIY. But others MAY not have the time, ability, etc.

The rubber trim molding came in - but they sent the WRONG part number from what I ordered. Waiting on the correct stuff now. NOT happy!

The good thing it that I have had time to lay up a couple more sets of the 'glass parts. I am stopping at 10 units/kits.
G
count me in please.

I will also be getting old squids pipes delivered wednesday. Can you cermic coat them also?
G
vbil - I don't see why not.

I just ordered a bunch of blasting media and more ceramic coating. Now all I need is the new header - I should know more by Monday. That way I can start with 2 headers and work as quickly as I can get them in. My oven will fit 2 headers and midpipes in it at a time. And normally isn't used much in the Winter.

Trying to keep this cost effective, and not lose a bunch of money. I don't mind donating my time.
Devious,
Damn, first the TORS giveaway and now this. You got to be the most generous bike guy I know. If your custom header doesn't work out and you keep the oem one then I'll be sending mine to you. In the meantime I got my fingers crossed.

look forward to hearing from you on Monday. That way I can ship everything Thursday. I hope you will be able to make it work. Thanks

+1000! Devi is a great man! Hell, the whole S3 community is the best bunch of guys I've ever been amongst. ;D

AWwwww, shucks.

Just trying to help out the community. Faster is Funner!
How about a 955i header? I'm planning to take mine off to send to you when I get the guage swap done. Also going to attempt some of your 'mild' mods on my butterflies and such.

Kahulka - E-mail me so we don't have the moderators coming down on us - LOL

Dev,

I'll prolly have done all the zorst mods myself but the cold air intake I'd buy off ya if you would ship to the UK.

I don't know how bulky/practical the cold air mod is to ship? i would not be offended if ship to UK is too much hassle.

You could, if you wanted, prolly get a nice little side business going for S3's mods as there is hardly anyone offerring any mod services for these bikes. If you do - I'm sure you would do ok cos you could back it up with actual dyno results. ;)

Mark
Or maybe make an ebook that details with photos how to mod your bike using proven techniques! I'd buy that for up to $15 depending on the content and amount of mods listed.
Oh yeah! DIY instructions very welcome! :) Things get described here quite good, but most of the time I don't quite get it. I need pics :D
G
Premier - I can probably handle making better DIY instructions with detailed photos. I am looking at options for a better digital camera now.

Mark99 - I have no problem shipping overseas. The cold air parts are light but may be bulky when packaged for idiot-proof shipping.
G
Ok nice one Dev.

I'll watch out for when they are ready.

Cheers

Mark
I replied on the RAT site, but It's probably more visible here (yay organization!) I'm interested in the whole she-bang as well. I just got back from the arctic today, and the roads in Anchorage are all icy. Not un-expected, but a bummer none the less. Time to tear into bikey!

Oh yeah! I can't find the thread, but count me in on a cold air kit as well. That is, if you are indeed going to sell these to the grovelling public.
