Ive been thinking on this one myself as I think I am now addicted to track days. the thoughts are

Ride on the track what you ride on the street. all lessons learned can be applied without measure. so I thought... Hmn go get an older S3 and track it. or just crash bobbin the hell outta mine....

or.

get a bike specifically for the track. but what? I was thinking a crashed Daytona 675 but all my friends are telling me i'd be better off with a gsxr600 or Honda 600rr or f4i as they litter the US and parts are easily available when I send it flying....

I am still in flux at this time as what to do.

D675 would be sweet.....but a jap bike would be much more easily taken care of...secondary to parts and cheaper labor

(YAWN) CBR600F4i for cheapness & parts avail, plus the comparison aspect (ie how well do I run with guys on the same bike?)

I think a GSXR750 would be pretty sweet, along the same lines, but faster.

If I could get a deal on one, a beat-up old RC51 would fit the bill for a track bike w/some soul.

Dream track-only bike? MV F1000R for certain!

Yup. I'd trailer it down to the track, set it next to the grandstand, sit on it and watch the action fly by me. What, you think I'd actually ride it if I owned one? Check my name dude.

Still my all time favorite bike to sit at the track on.

Doc, we cant keep going back and forth all day!! I'm just goofing around saying, I'm glad to have ANY motorcycle on a track. I'm getting past being so picky or concerned about having the best of anything. I'm just happy to get on a motorcycle on a track, or for that matter get on a motorcycle anywhere.

"I'm just glad to be here" is an old George Burns-ism. IOW, he meant he is glad not to be dead. Of course, now, he is dead. oh well.

I may have to work on being more direct.
