I just joined the ranks of Speed Triple owners as I purchased a 2001 955i which a friend unfortunately planted into the side of a car whose driver pulled out in front of him on the way to work. My question is which fuel tanks are interchangeable with the 2001 model? Will other year Speed Tiples work, how about a 2002 Daytona tank? I'm trying to expand my options via ebay and used tanks available. I searched the forum and didn't see an answer. Thanks in advance for any help. Keith

The frame is the same; the tanks are different, as I'm sure you know. I suppose the question is: Will the '02-'04 tank fit the '01 side panels, and are the mounting points the same? I don't know the answer, but I'll bet you can scour the gallery and find it. I know the new ones have a single mounting bolt near the headstock, whereas ours have two "compression" bolt mounts along the frame. Good luck!

1997 to 2001 will fit. The fuel pump mount will be 10 hole on the older ones so you will need the newer 14 hole(99-01?). The trick is getting one that doesn't leak. Watch for leaks at the threaded inserts. Good luck
Thanks, I just bought a tank for a 2001 on ebay in primer. I'll check it with water before any installation. Now I have a question about the fuel pressure regulator hose. I'll start a new post on that. When removing the tank, it was not attached with a clip on the regulator and seemed to be simply routed under the tank and not connected to anything on the other end.
