Its not the nut that comes loose its that rubber bonded to the side of the sprocket that wears and causes the slack.

Holy thread resurrection , Batman!

I just changed my sprockets for the first time. As you could easily predict if you're an OG here and remember this thread... the nut on the front sprocket was loose enough to spin off with my fingers, and held on only by the bent washer designed to do just that. No negative symptoms, but something you should go check.
tl;dr pertinent info:
8mm socket for the cover bolts
36mm socket (1-7/16 inch socket) sprocket nut tightened to 132mn (97 ft-lbs).
